  2. New commands -
  3. B)atch, for sending files using Ymodem.  Only accessable by those using a,
  4. Ymodem terminal program (such as ProTERM).
  5. E)xternal commands, for "special" sysop commands.  When you type "E", EXfer
  6. will respond with:
  7. [::] ->External:
  8. At this point, you may type one of the following commands:
  9. SWAP library_1,library_2
  10. (ie: SWAP 1,2)
  11. SWAP will switch two libraries around.  In the above example, library #1 will,
  12. become library #2, and #2 would become #1.
  13. HELP command
  14. (ie: HELP C)
  15. HELP will allow you to edit one of the entries in the HLP.EXFER file.  In theK
  16. above example, you'd be placed in the editor to edit the C)opy help text.
  17. PURGE library
  18. (ie: PURGE 1)
  19. Purge will delete all the files off of a library.  In the above example,.
  20. library #1 would have all its files deleted.
  21. RESET library
  22. (ie: RESET 1)
  23. RESET will delete the information file for a particular library.  This givesH
  24. the users an opportunity to re-enter file information at a later date.
  25. DUMP library
  26. (ie: DUMP 1)
  27. DUMP will print the directory on paper.  The "actual file name on disk" is)
  28. placed under the "Miscellaneous" field.
  29. EXfer 4.0 Files

  31. Place the following files on your A: ("program") drive:
  32. EXFER.SEG.S
  33. EXFER.SYS.S
  34. Place the following files on your B: ("system") drive:
  35. XT.YMODEM.G
  36. MNU.EXFER
  37. HLP.EXFER
  38. All your EXfer 3.0hs files are "upward compatible" with version 4.0.
  39. A Few Notes

  41. While I don't mind you modifying your EXfer segments, I will make a requestO
  42. that you allow EXfer to identify itself when it is entered, and please do notO
  43. remove the copyright notice that is displayed when the user exits from EXfer.
  44. I have had this stuff "in the test mill" for about 1 1/2 months now, and I'mN
  45. Lsure that I've taken care of most of the bugs.  However, problems do arise, 
  46. if you find a bug, please report it to me so I can take care of it.

  74. IOK, there was a bug with the security levels and I have corrected it and 
  75. givenM
  76. it to Lance.  As soon as he puts the new stuff on-line, you will be able toN
  77. Ldownload the new EXfer (Lance - post here when you have put the new segment 
  78. line).
  79. LBy the way, I'd like to stress that if you are a registered owner of EXfer, 
  80. do get this upgrade for free.

  105. Well I have installed exfer 4.0 in my system and it works great EXCEPTH
  106. 1) when the user d/l files via the ymodem command the d/l's do not getL
  107. registeredd on his DL variable at all it just bypasses it and shows he hasN
  108. downloaded nothing.  say he d/l 2 files .. then his dl = 0  this needs to be
  109. fixed.
  110. 2) If a person is in the editor entering his description of the file and heL
  111. somehow looses his carrior then the board will hang forever !  to fix thisN
  112. Lright after the lable EDEDC in exfer.seg.s  put a 'on cocar goto terminate" 
  113. this sould fix it .. but
  114. I dont know where or how to fix #1 above !! hey mike you got any ideas ?D

  123. NSame thing happened to me, Mike. Also, once upon a time (a while back), I did 
  124. Cbatch send, and when I went back into the BBS I had turned into an 
  125. unvalidated1

  133. MI think mike did a great job on the exfer .. ymodem works great !!! here are 
  134. Kfew bugs that i personally have found and thought that we all could try to 
  135. rid of !!O
  136. 1) the exfer correctly records all d/l of xmodem but dosnt even pay attention+
  137. to the d/l of ymodem and dosnt record it.I
  138. G2) if your on line and in the editor at anyplace in exfer and dump the     
  139. carriorO
  140. the board will hang forever.. it needs a on nocar goto terminate i believe in
  141. segment lable 'EDESC' M
  142. K3) I have had probs with the descriptions lately ! if i as a sysop want to 
  143. Ka file it asks me if i want to put a description of the file .. well i say 
  144. 'NO'O
  145. but then when a directory is done that file i just added indicates that there#
  146. is information avalible for it . 
  147. have anyone else experienced this and or other related probs?

  156.    First of all I'de like to say "Good Job" to Mike and congratulations on aO
  157. fine piece of work.. I got it the night it was put up, and installed it in 10L
  158. minutes on my system (with the help of Exfer 3.0) online without a hitch. 
  159. I'de also like to point out a bug (of course).. when you spacebar out of theJ
  160. "n"ew scan, it kills you with a syntax error. The problem is in the codeJ
  161. Hright after the label "new.x" and before the "new.2". I think Mike just 
  162. forgot:
  163. a semi-colon there but all you have to do is switch the 
  164. 1 finished, or interrupted
  165. to a 
  166. ; 1 finished or interrupted
  167. I tried this on this system (hitting the space during a new scan) and it hung0
  168. up on me, so I know it wasn't a bad download..

  176. protection to me......can't get 4.0 to run on a "non-standard" setup (i.e./
